OK everyone serious question. my bf is stuck working at a house that has a client that has shingles. I have had the chicken pox and so has he but I was told pregnant women can still get shingles. should I be worried he'll bring it home?

I think.....I am not sure I would do my research and also ask your doctor or on-call nurse to be safe.

if you've had chicken pox you're more likely to get shingles. I would call your dr and ask

maybe a little. just tell him to keep a safe distance if he can & to wash his hands often.

the problem is, he can't not work with the guy... he is a 2 person transfer and there are only 2 people on night shift @futuremrs.holbert

if youve had chicken pox, you already have the shingles virus. as long as the guy doesnt touch it and then touch everything else without washing his hands. you just need to make sure your husband washes his hands a ton or takes a shower as soon as he gets home and you wash the work clothes so the germs dont spread. youll be okay, just be cautious and ask your doctor if youre unsure about anything. better safe than sorry

@kaygee612, the guy is mentally disabled so no guarantee about the touching unfortunately... but I'm waiting for the on call OB to give me a call back

I was just reading about it & it says it's not contagious after the persons rash develops crust. your s/o should ask the person to keep their rashes covered & keep hands clean.

well then as long as your man takes the necessary precautions and continuously washes his hands after touching anything. like i said youd rather be safe than sorry. just because the other guy cant control the spread doesnt mean your man cant do his part in spreading it if its contagious still. gotta be proactive rather than sit back and just let it be till symptoms arise. @nightdaughter

still doesnt hurt to keep everything clean and practice good hygiene because your babys immune system isnt as built as yours is. you have had chicken pox already so you have the shingles virus in your body.

My brother had chicken pox and he got shingles..😶

@kaygee612, absolutely. he is going to take a shower when he gets home and he will be wearing gloves when working with the guy
