I get what you mean. I've had people want to meet Max but haven't seen Morgan since he was a baby. I have a huge family though & we all get busy. Have you made an effort to go & visit these people that you say don't come & see you? I know for me I would have to say no! We all have busy lives which sadly take over. We only see some people at weddings, funerals &.... when we have babies! So I guess I just see it differently. Perhaps say your happy for immediate family to come over when babies here but then you'd like few days to settle & then others can call & arrange a time to come over. To give you breaks in between. That's what I did.

I can see where ur coming from hun it was the same with my first except I was happy to shear my son with everybody but it was too much after a few days I was in hospital 8 days I had ppl in n out everyday then ppl when I got home but that was it they dint bother with my son after that and it was upsetting especially if ur struggling and the family r not arnd for support. I felt I dint get my time to relax once baby was sleeping aswell. This time arnd iv put my foot down I'm happy for my mum and her partner to come and see me but everyone has been told to wait a few days till we r settled not only that but I want my son to get his attention with me and his new sister b4 ppl come in and forget him. stick to what you feel is right for your little family hun and if the ppl still want to meet the baby after then you can decide then. Having a new baby takes alot out of you the last things anyone want is more stress. x

they way I see it I don't have a problem with mum and dad coming round when the baby is here but all other family (brothers,sisters) live 15 mins away and never come over now I have my place. when we had our first we was living at my mum and dads so didn't really get to have a say so got bombarded with everyone straight away without giving us the chance to get use to being parents and at that point we were young i was 18 so it became overwhelming there was always people over and couldn't get a break. now I just feel Ive had my own place for over a year and "family" don't ever come over I don't see them unless I make the effort to go to there's or my mums.so it caused uproar yesterday and I don't understand why all we want is a few days I'm not saying they can't see her but I just want some time to adjust. I don't want them over when they don't bother to come and see the niece they have now but more than happy to come over and hold my baby. am I really suppose to sit there and be happy about that x

Hmm I'm torn by this because after I had Morgan I had loads of people over who wanted to see him. Some I was close to, others not so much. Some were my mums friends & extended family I never see. I didn't mind though as My mum is important to me & has supported us so much over the years. She was so excited & proud being a grandparent she wanted to show the whole world her grandson! So I didn't mind. Now I'm not saying you should bow down & have everyone over. If there's certain people you don't like for any reason. But maybe just bare in mind. If your parents have supported & loved you over the years maybe try & see it in a more positive light than a negative one. Sometimes babies bring people together & that's not a bad thing.
