So... the hospital called me today (a day before my due date) to tell me my delivery payment is due in full at the time of the delivery... this is the first I've heard of this and they decide to tell me a day before my due date?! Way to stress out a pregnant woman...
Oh yeah if she scheduled it then they'll expect you to pay up front & she can't really do anything about that because the hospital bill is separate from her bill. I asked my doctor about that too. It was a mess & I was pissed walking into my c section. Hopefully baby just comes so you can save the money.
@dang_dridri, I don't have anything scheduled as far as I know unless my Dr went ahead and scheduled an induction. She told me we would discuss my options if I haven't delivered by Tuesday at my appt on Tuesday. So she may have scheduled something but I haven't been told I'm scheduled for anything and we haven't discussed induction at all.
if it's scheduled, you have to pay up front. If you just go into labor then they can't turn you down. But they feel like because it was scheduled, you knew. 🙄 it really pissed me off because they never mentioned it, no one did.
@babyrossmommy, @ashley07 that's what I thought! Especially when insurance is covering 90%, they are getting the majority of the payment anyways.
by law they cannot turn you down if you come in and are in active labor so don't stress
@dang_dridri, seriously! my husband and I saved a little but we need that so he can take some time off of work since neither of our jobs offer paid time off. I'm so pissed, like you couldn't have told me that before so I could have made payments? I would have expected them to tell me that at preregistration. I'm going to try and fight for a payment plan cause that's just ridiculous! Any other time I've had medical bills the were mailed to me later on.
that's nuts. my ob office is in the hospital im delivering at so that have been having us make payments for the last 6 months. that's terrible management on their end! @shellips
