So my son WILL NOT take formula. Not in a bottle, not mixed in cereal, not any way at all. He just wants mama. That's it. And I'm totally fine and happy with that! He knows the difference and I KNOW I make more than enough for him. So until the day comes that I dont? His doctor can kiss my ass. Far as I'm concerned he is growing JUST fine. Those growth charts can also kiss my ass. #perfectbaby #breastfed
Wow...I don't blame you for not giving it, I'd do the same. You know your baby so go with your gut, and the fact that the LC and nutritionist said he's fine would give me all the reassurance I need. Sucks about your dr if that's true, healthcare is so political these days
@bianca_rose, yes. His doctor said that he " had completely fallen off the growth curve, even for a preemie" and because of that he said that I should begin giving him formula as a supplement after every breastfeeding. Well I can't quite do that if he doesn't want to take it! The LC I spoke with at WIC and also a nutritionist at WIC told me that he is perfectly fine and that he's in the 10th percentile for weight and he's really doing great with his height. So they think that the doctor is just trying to get him on formula because he gets Kickbacks for it. That really upset me because I've been going to this doctor for 15 years with my kids and I've always trusted him. But the fact that he's trying to force formula on him really upsets me because I'm working so hard to maintain a good supply and make sure he gets as much breast milk as possible. I've been doing this since day one when he was born and was put into the NICU and I'm not about to just stop now because they want me to start feeding him formula!
At our 2 month check up.....I wondered if the charts were separated for formula fed babies and BF babies.....It hasn't become an issue for us yet but I don't think it's fair for a baby if they aren't put into different categories. @mrs.mccormick
