how do you know your baby has eaten enough after you bf? since I can't see what he's drinking how do you gauge? hell…

Id like to know also, the way I do it is if she is still rooting after I burp her I'll put her on the other boob and as long as she doesn't cry after I unlatch her from that boob (when she starts to fall asleep) I figure that she is nice and full

Sounds normal , they only drink what they need . You can offer the other side but if they want to sleep i say let them .

My LO poops about 8-10 times a day is that normal? She's 3 weeks @housfullofgrls

@cubanese, that makes sense. I have been bottle feeding/pumping up til this point so I will keep an eye out for wet diapers.

I let my little one unlatch her self . That's what I was told to do in the hospital. Or if she falls asleep on my boob I slowly try taking out the nipple and if she starts sucking again I'll leave her depending on how long she's been on and how fast asleep she is. Cause I figure she might be waking up for a little more. Also diaper counts she does through tons a day and had gained weight at her weekly appointments

You'll start to feel a let down of your milk soon. When baby is sucking fast and then slowing it's trying to cause the let down so when it does happen and they start taking slower longer gulps it's because your let down is happening and they're getting the most milk at that point :) as long as your feeding on demand and you have enough dirty diapers you are good my daughter is 6 months and I've never measured how much she eats
