sooo nylahs current daycare provider wants me to put down a 200$ deposit on MONDAY for a baby I'm not even due to have until fucking January! I'm so Damn pissed. call me crazy or naive but I think that's bull shit I shouldn't have to commit with a check this soon! she got 7 kids already is not like she should get anymore right now anyways! ugh I could just cry right now.

Hmmm I've never been asked to do that before. Interesting. I guess I understand, but I think a written contract should be enough.
@wethreepeas, it varies from state-to-state how many babies are allowed to be in the daycare.
the best thing you can do is wait until January. maybe you find a better spot for both of your kids. no need to stress over it now..
Yea I get its to hold my spot. the problem is I feel like she's already at max amount for kids. she's the only employee. it's a licensed home daycare. she has three under 2... two a little over 2 and two 3 yr Olds. one of the 3 yr old has special needs as well and has behaviors. he needs sensory things done with him throughout the day. I don't get how she thinks she could handle another infant at this time. I only told her I'd take it so she wouldn't add anymore kids. but I'm not staying. I think it's completely unfair that she is demanding the money now. I wouldn't even have the baby there until like March anyways! and I'm already knowing I won't get the deposit back. I feel like she knows I'm looking around since it took me so long to get back to her about the spot. so that's why she wants it now. @wethreepeas @dreamie702 @showersoverflowers
its because daycares are only allowed 4 baby spots by law, basically the 200 will hold that spot for you to assure that your baby will have a spot. its not out of the ordinary for daycares to do that. cause they could get a call anyday for infants and those spots could easily get filled otherwise. so basically shed be missing out on funds for that spot shes holding for your baby until then.
I charge to hold spots as well but I also have a wait list. I have limited slots so if people want me to keep one open for them, I'm losing money and need to be compensated for that. However paying 6 months out is a bit ridiculous. is she a home daycare or a center? Does she have employees? is she licensed?

That's bs. She's just looking for money. She better realize she can't tell you when to put money upfront for an unborn baby. People are greedy
