Under my original comment there are posts saying 'so am I wrong to talk about it' 'i was only asking' 'I felt like I was being judged for asking a question' I just wanted to make sure people didn't think that I was judging anyone at all. That's not what this site is for@jod1303 xx

Am sure they say having some Guinness is alright because full of iron! I've never drank in either of my pregnancies but I know people who drank all the way through and everything was fine.. Xxx

my mum drank guiness when she was pregnant with me 😂 it's full of iron and her midwife bk then, 25 years ago, told her to drink it lol. she would drink guiness and sometimes with blackcurrant, and I'm OK lol. iv never had a drink while being pregnant, because it's your mind that makes you anxious isn't it. so if I was ever gonna have a drink in this pregnancy, I would have a guiness like my mum 😂 x

Any responsible adult knows that having one glass or a sip here & there won't affect the baby. But drinking regularly or excessively could do some damage. Some people drink before they know their pregnant & babies fine. Just like some smokers don't get cancer. But I'm not gonna smoke & take that chance. I didn't drink during pregnancy. Everyone always made a fuss & said oh one drinks fine don't be 'one of those' lol. I didn't think I'd be causing major damage by having a drink but I was quite happy not drinking for 9months. It's not a life time! 😂

My midwife told me it was fine too, she also said drinking alcopops are fine too, does no harm to baby it's personal choice as long as you don't get drunk x

@sammy, your not wrong for talking about it hun.. the midwife told me one small glass is safe. i think they put the warnings out for people who drink every night tbh. i craved alcohol with both my girls. it sent me crazy. i had a small coder with my first but with my second i worried so much i wouldn't do it.. only you know whats best for you hun xx

youre not wrong for talking about it youve asked opinions thats what youve received. if you want to have a drink thats up to you and only you. but waiting a few months wouldnt kill :)

I think that this is a very touchy subject, and that people can get quite upset having this conversation to be honest @sammy but I'm just being honest: I've had about 30 ml of wine in 31 weeks. 🙄 not a big deal at all. It's not going to have had any effect on baby. I wouldn't do it if I thought it would or if I was told not to. But my midwife & my family friend who runs a maternity ward says it's fine then I'm not worried about 30ml. It is best to stick away from it if you're worried or going to torture yourself about it.

The effects of alcohol on a fetus/baby doesn't necessarily show its effects straight away. Years down the line the effects show. Xx

I've had a little glass of wine & soda. Like 1/4 small glass worth of wine. my midwife and family friend said it's absolutely fine to have the odd one! She's a ward sister of 15 years. But it's personal choice! X

no its not that's why I never dropped a drop of achol since I found out I was pregnant I wasn't a big drinker any way only a glass at weekend.just me mate bugging me saying it's silly I won't have a drink with her but I don't think it is just wanted to no if it's me being silly xx

alcohol passes from your blood through the placenta and to your baby. just not something thats worth it hun

Yes I agree I just wanted to no your opinions on it I havent touched a drop since I become pregnant but my mate says a little one won't harm but I was unsure that's why I asked xx

@stacey804, i was getting plastered and even had a tattoo at beginning of my pregnancy but as soon as i knew i was pregnant i couldnt have the guilt of that on my shoulders. dont think its fair personally xx

I personally think that you shouldnt drink while pregnant. Even if it is a little one. Like @jod1303 each to their own xx

Same @jod1303 but I think 1 watered down would be fine. Some people drink without knowing they are pregnant. But personally I wouldn't risk even a drop xx

think its wrong personally smoking or drinking in pregnancy i really disagree with but each to their own 9 months isnt along time to wait 😀

My midwife told me it's absolutely fine (I got married when I was 16 weeks) as long as it's just the 1 x
