At what point do I need to be worried about reduced movements? I've had a really sore tum today, on the right side of my belly button. Feels like a constant stitch which hurts when I stand up or move. But I've also noticed baby hasn't moved much today. Wondering if it's just pushing forward all day and resting, or if I should be worried and calling someone?

I wish it wouldn't @suzie80 🙈 I had a decent stomach before haha. A small sacrifice in the grand scheme of things I guess 😊 Thank you for your advice, I've got a hip band on today and will get a proper belly one later to help while it's doing its thing. Don't think I'll be opting for corrective surgery though! x

That's the classic symptoms the best thing is watching your core stability whilst your body finishes tearing that muscle up. Get up from sitting by holding your tummy to support it and slowly. Mine went within the week now I just am so weak at my tummy as I have no support. Failing that a tubigrip size L over the whole bump to support. I'm afraid mine never goes right back together after each baby. I was shown exercises there u cross your hands on each side of the abdominal muscle and do small sit ups daily. It brought it in but they never recover I'm afraid. Only surgery will. It's why women gets tummy tucks and they repair the tear. Some women remain very wide gaping gaps and they get protrusions of the insides later on but paying attention now will lessen it as much as u can. Some are unlucky and just tear and others don't.

@suzie80, I did wonder if it was muscular but thought it was a really odd place for it to be! It is sharp and it hurts when I stand unless I kind of hold it in? I assume it fits back together again after a while?? x

The pain your describing sounds very much like muscle separation or tearing apart. Mine have gone again and I now have a seperate on of a few cm gaping gap where mine have split and the pain was quite bad before it finished tearing and was sharp and near my belly button. With my first the muscle separation was so bad u could fit five fingers in the gap 1 week after giving birth.

Panic over, kicking has come back now I'm in bed! Still got a sore bit but I'll call the general midwives about it tomorrow. For now it's nice to be beaten up again from the inside 🙈@sara-lou @clairee
Glad everything was okay for you in the end @katyc884781 ! xx

I felt a flutter about an hour ago after eating @sara-lou , but nothing like I normally get. I think the pain I'm getting near my belly button is worrying me which in turn is making me focus a lot on the movements. I've tried the cold drink, OH gave me some bottled water from the fridge, but that hasn't worked yet.
Think I'll give it another 45 mins or laying on my side then call them. Do you just call the Midwife unit at the hospital @clairee ? I'm seen at my local gp for normal MW appointments xx

if you have any concerns what so ever phone the hospital hun. Any change (reduction) shouldn't be ignored. I had reduced movements throughout my pregnancy and now have a healthy baby boy but your always better to get checked. The midwife will say buyers same but try what @sara-lou said first but I would at least call the hospital for advice xx

You say you haven't felt baby move much. But you have felt baby move? When was that? Have you tried having a cold drink, laying on your left side etc? @newmommyapril I've given it over night before & seen how things were in the morning & then I called up. Funnily enough once I called I felt baby move. Literally when I was on the phone! 😂 Up to you though maybe if you've not felt something after trying the above after a couple hours give someone a ring.
