I'm about to give up on breastfeeding 😢 I don't think she's getting enough from me and everyone keeps saying she's not…

@jesscami, I just feel like a failure

omg that is awful :( I already have DHS watching us too. I smoked previous to my pregnancy and didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 10 weeks along. I tested positive at my 12 week appt and because of that one incident, they had to open a case on me. I didn't know failure to thrive was even a thing, but I guess I understand why it is. I hope they don't see that as an issue with my daughter. I had to start supplementing formula when she was a week old because I just knew she wasnt even getting anything from me. @addisonsmommy801, I haven't ever even experienced a 'let-down', even while pumping, so I'm sure my supply is next to nothing...i hate that feeling too though, because I cry whenever I think that I'm not providing enough for her..

@jesscami, I already have DHS watching me because of my foster sister who just got her baby taken for failure to thrive. I don't want to risk my baby getting taken too but I don't want to switch her. I don't know what to do and all I want to do is sit here and cry

@addisonsmommy801, my daughter is a month and a few days too, and has gained very little..i hope things get better for you. just stick with it, like I am. we will get there!

I agree with @jgarciamua my son went a week with out pooping its normal in breast fed babies and my son gained a a pound each dr visit it seemed sometimes he was thse same weight the next visit

Breastfeed babies can go up to 10 days without pooping. Just ask your pedi about her weight @addisonsmommy801

@jgarciamua, @mrsmoore @adaraa126 the past few days she's been having trouble pooping, she will go a whole day without going.

@jesscami I don't want to stop! Makes me want to cry my eyes out, but she's a month and a few days and she's gained maybe a pound since she was born... I feel terrible 😢

I am in the same boat. i cry when I think I may have to quit breastfeeding because it really is important to me. I have to supplement with formula because of how much weight she lost. even on top of being too small and premature. how old is your baby now? what does she weigh?

if shes producing wet diapers and your dr is happy with her weight gain then shes fine..dont give up!

if she has enough wet and poopy diapers she's fine ,people are used to seeing formula fed babies who are bigger, just be confident and tell then she's fine and her doctor said she's fine

As long as baby is getting enough wet diapers your baby should be fine
