Just had a membrane sweep... I remember it being a lot more painful with my first and had no blood after this time... Anyone had a sweep on due date and it actually worked? Did yours hurt?
I have been drinking it since about 35 weeks. It Isn't meant to bring on labour, it's supposed to make the second stage of labour quicker. I drank it with my first and my whole labour from first contraction to last was only 7 hours so I think it worked with him. Fingers crossed 😂 xx@kate_smith
Sounds like you are doing loads, I think you'll have the baby before Wednesday too! Have you tried raspberry leaf tea? I overindulged in that for a few days before giving birth, apparently it might make the labour faster too - so worth a shot! ;)
I'm booked in on Wednesday for another. She did say yesterday that she didn't think I'd make it that far but you never know. I had two with my son within three days and went into labour after the second. I seem to be getting a little bit of brown/pink discharge today so fingers crossed I don't need the second one. Ate loads of pineapple today, been shopping and going for a long walk again later. Praying she's here before Monday @kate_smith xx
On the bright side, I've been told that the second sweep is more likely to be effective (as opposed to just having the first one later on)! fingers crossed! can you ask for another one today? when I came yo the hospital in labour, they must have given me 5 more to speed things up, so you can have them quite often!
@kate_smith, nothing at all now 😔 got excited after the bleed last night and abit of cramping but it's all stopped now. Gutted! Long walk again for me today xx
Not straight away, I had a tiny bit of bleeding 2-3 hours after, and then some mild cramping 4-5 hours after, which stopped completely before I went to bed. but then I woke from cramps/contractions at about 3 am :)
I had a sweep 4 days after due date and it worked, went into labour at night :)
Had my first one on Tuesday the day after my due date. Didn't feel much- no blood.
Had one yesterday at the hospital by a dr and bled afterwards. Now having my show and contractions intermittently x
It hurt really bad the first time I had one. And I bled loads after... Like straight away. I saw her glove when she finished and it was covered and I started aching straight away. I've literally just been the loo and had abit of blood plus some achy pain so hoping things have started. Good luck for yours! It is quite uncomfortable but doesn't last long :) xx
7 hours is amazing!!! and the second time round its supposed to be even quicker!
