Any tips on getting my son to take his medicine? He has to take 2 by syringe and I literally have to…

@andrewsmommy, does he take a bottle? is it amoxocillan?

I used to have to hold my baby down it sucks but they need it

can you put it in a juice sippy cup?

you are allowed to- i had to with my son that is the only way he would take any meds-i still do

You just have to stick the syringe in the back corner of his mouth and he will swallow it. He may fight you, but just keep his head tilted back a bit til he swallows it. He will cry and fight it, but just keep telling him that it will make him feel better after he takes it.

@andrewsmommy, jusy make sure he drinks all of the liquid toy mix it with... do if he drinks a 6oz bottle mix it with 4oz then after he drinks that give him the other 2oz seperatly

you can mix n it. if you don't want to just squirt the medicine in his mouth and blow on his face, he will swallow. it sounds tough but it will work.

@sarahb518 he almost choked to death last time we did that. its thick and he started turning super red and couldn't cough it out

I try to do a little at a time with a syringe. My daughter fights me when I have to give her medicine but I try different ways to get her to open her mouth. You can try putting the syringe in the corner of the mouth and squirting the medicine a little at a time.

@firstbaby_girl he knows the syringe lol he turns his head if he sees me even cleaning it. hes a smart little boy.
