Ask for professional references,previous experience,education,tell them what you would require of them,ask their desired compensation,if they have reliable transportation,ask if they have pets if anyone in your home as allergies,ask what they're able to do(activities,projects,cleaning,etc),ask if they have any physical or cognitive limitations,what their philosophy is on children and their discipline style,ask about their out if work life,how long they plan to work for you,what their schedule is like,do a background check,ask if they had vaccinations if you require them,ask what kind of routine or schedule they might have for the child(ren)

References are a must and a backround check! Ask about their short term and long term goals, if they plan on going to school or if they are currently enrolled. Make sure they can stay with you long term, wouldn't want people in and out because they lie during interviews to get the job and then a few months later they find a better paying job or they go back to school. Feel free to message me, I've been a nanny for 4 years and a babysitter for 5 years before that, so I've endured many interviews.

Ask if they smoke, do any drugs, their work experience, and you need to determine by there looks and personality if they seem responsible and patient and caring enough for your baby.

Make sure she's taken care of children before. This woman hired me to babysit because the previous baby sitter was smoking weed and shooting her kids with staples etc and making her youngest sleep all day
