how long did your babies cord take to fall off and did it start bleeding a little right before? my son is 11 days old today and as of yesterday it started bleeding a little bit- enough to get on the edge of his diaper and now it looks like its barely holding on but im definitely not wanting to mess with it. im scared his diaper or sleeper is going to end up pulling it off.
His fell off today at doctor and she said just to watch it now cuz it'll bleed a little bit. Can use alcohol to help dry it up faster. @marie07242015
@marie07242015, i didn't mean to worry you. It never gave my daughter any discomfort.. If you just wash around it with baby shampoo and keep it really dry (no diaper over top of it, no band aids, etc.) it'll heal up nice ☺️ sidenote: she was actually 17 days old.. So a little over two weeks
oh no that really worries me, hes not even 2 weeks old for another 3 days 😱 @annabellemaesmommy
My daughters fell off when she was 3 weeks old, it would bleed like that too & she ended up having a herniated cord so when it fell off it wasn't entirely healed for another 2 weeks :/ now her belly button looks like a little 3 leaf clover 😍😍 lol!
thanks for replying ladies, gives me some peace of mind! @mommyofallboys671 @kami24706
and @karstenal how old is your daughter?
My babies is like that too. Been oozy kind of and just hanging on. See doctor today so I'll see what she says about it.
my babies took about 3 weeks before it fell off. I know how scary it was, but you can fold the babies diaper down in the front so it doesn't rub against it. Also you can clean around the belly button with rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball 1-2 times daily, just try to keep it as dry as you can until it falls off. :)
okay thanks lol his just fell off earlier, i found it in his sleeper when i changed him an hour ago
