Yes it works great, now that she is 6 months im going too try and seriously wean her from it but I'm so used to it. It's hard. But she wouldn't eat the first 2 days. And then they have me it and it took her being home too finally get the hang of it.

My baby is only 2 weeks old but I have flat nipples and I breastfeed with a nipple shield. It's frustrating sometimes but we practice latching everyday, usually after I feed her breastmilk I pumped. She latched great as soon as she was born but once I introduced the bottle she got a little confused.

my right in flat compared to my left.. a lactation specialist told me to kinda "sandwich" my nipple.. basically squeeze the areola together

making my nipple stick out a bit and put it into my sons mouth when he opened it.

workes for me.. going on 4 months

Yeah I agree with the "sandwich" thing. Taking your index and middle finger and squishing the nipple out. You can also try to stimulate it? Like make your nipples hard if that works and I also had a manual pump and would pump my nipples out to get them puckers out. It took me a month to get a successful latch and from then on my nipples actually converted out so I never had another problem and I don't even think I'll have the problem again.

Try pumping before you attempt to latch her. Pumping a little will help pull your nipple out. Also the nipple shield if she is having a hard time it could be too big for her and you may need a smaller nipple shield. With my son I needed a smaller shield but I still would put him to breast before I used the shield. It helped and now he latches with no shield

@megbaby07, i have inverted nipples as well. it gives me so much hope to know that you are breastfeeding successfully! I want to exclusively breast feed so bad and I have been so concerned about the obstacles my nipples may cause.

This kit is wonderful. It has a little tool to get your nipple out and ready.

Nipple shield! I have a flat nipple on one side and that is the only things that helped. 6 months strong!
