Had an argument with OH last night... I finally plucked up the courage to tell him I'm really not keen on the name we picked for baby. He told me its "tough" then stormed out, told me I'm pissing him off and slept on the couch until about 4am. Then hasn't spoken to me this morning and has just gone out without saying anything, leaving me in floods of tears.

I shouldn't be scared about having an opinion on something so important should I? If I don't love the name, and can't seem to even pronounce it properly surely it's not the one?!

I can't believe how alone I feel right now. I've just sat here crying my eyes out for my 4 year old to ask me if it was my OH who upset me then insisting he cuddles me until I feel better which just makes me cry more.... Sorry for the rant. Just don't know where else to turn 😔

me and my oh were constantly arguing about this all the time as his side of the family hated any names i said i liked, we're not married either so i was recieving pressure off his father to have the baby take my partners last name to carry on the tradition. this wasnt an issue for me but i definitely used it to my advantage and told him i pick our daughters first name if she automatically takes your last name without double barrelling etc with my last name. it worked! his dad hated it tho cus it wasnt his choice but i just stated that when he grows my daughter for nine months with all symptoms and giving up drink etc then head get to choose the name! i dont care if i offended him and my partner has realised how opinionated and pushy he was. so my point is hun, its you thats doing the hard work so should be you that gets deciding vote xxx

That doesn't seem fair, he needs to listen to you as well! He shouldn't have stormed out either, you need to sit down and talk calmly. This should be an exciting time, not something you dread discussing. Maybe send him a text when he's calmed down xx

That's exactly what I did last night @canteloupe24 . I didn't just blurt out I don't like it, I mentioned a new name which is actually very very similar to the one we picked and I said I preferred it. Then tried to explain why I'd gone off the one we picked. He always always said no to my choices though so it was no surprise for him to say no to the new idea. Xx

Instead of saying point blank you don't like the name, you could try suggesting other names to have as a backup. Then when you meet your little one you can both decide on what she looks like? If he's set on the name Alexis, remind him that it's a team decision and it's not fair on you who's been growing your baby for 9 months. My OH and I have decided on a few names we like with one in particular that stands out, but we won't decide for certain until we meet our baby. xx

People can even change their minds after baby is born.

You are entitled to change your mind as it is your daughter. If you aren't 100 percent on it your daughter won't grow up liking it either. Nice name but Lex for short or Lexi are not as nice as Alexis.

Maybe let him calm down and then speak about it when he s calm xx

Why do they always blame our mums 😂 I don't understand my partner has done that a few times aswell, listen hunni stand your ground an go with your heart an feelings if it's not what you want for baby then it doesn't happen, your baby's mum an I know it's meant to be 50/50 but at the end of the day like my partner said to me were the ones who go thru everything absolutely everything to bring this little life in to the world so after all the talks an opinions it's truly only our opinion that matters xxx

This is why we've never finalised names until we met both our sons. Even though this time we were 99% sure we liked Max we didn't say for sure. I was adamant I wanted Thomas 1st time then nearer to due date I completely went off it. When he's stopped having his paddy @jodieiokie just say it's still on the table but you want to carry on thinking of other names as your not sure about it now. At the end of the day your not going to choose a name you don't like so he has no choice but to get over it.

I love the name Lexi- but my friend has a Lexy already. But you must also be happy with the name choice x

The name we picked is Alexis @littleelf85 - don't get me wrong, it's a nice name but I don't like the fact that people will shorten it down to lexi (I know of a drug dealer who lives in my town called lexi so it's put me off) and I can't pronounce it properly either. We were really struggling on a name and every time I brought up baby talk he seemed like he wasn't interested or got annoyed after 10 minutes so when he finally showed some effort he passed me a list of names he liked on the way to a hospital appointment and Alexis was on there, sounded nice at the time so I said that one and we literally shook on it and he said no going back now. I even bought something personalised so that I wouldn't but I just hadn't thought about it properly. I feel as though it could be used very easily by bullies (Alex-is-stupid) and I just can't get over it. I've been thinking I don't like it for weeks but couldn't pluck up the courage to tell him cause I knew he would react badly. I'm now 6 days away from my due date and i panicked and told him last night and all hell broke loose... I told him that it should be both our choice and he went mad presuming it's my mum who's put me off it (he has a thing about my mum being involved) I didn't say anything else because it's pointless arguing with him but I want to text him and tell him how I feel but just don't know what to say.. @chellie32 @lauramorg @sara-lou xx

I'm having the same sort of disagreements.

However, once I've pushed this baby out- I definitely have deciding vote!!!!

I'd tell him to grow up @jodieiokie Seems a bit drastic storming out over talks of baby names. It should be a fun, jokey time talking over possible choices. Saying that the husband & I couldn't decide on a name we both liked so stopped talking about it for months lol. Also of course name choices should be discussed together but it shouldn't be his way or the high way. Your the one growing the baby & pushing them out! That's what I said to my husband anyways 😂

Men can be insensitive at times. They ll never understand what we go through.

It is your choice as well as his. Needs to be 50/50.

Hope you are ok xx

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

Creeped out! A new guy at work just tickled the back of my neck! I cringed and told him "Don't ever touch me, that weirds me out!" On Monday he pulled my braid as I was grabbing parts for him, I also told him don't ever do that. Ugh. I don't feel comfortable working with him EVER! A coworker told me that when she walked past he said "what's cooking good looking". I feel he doesn't deserve to work here. I can't feel like I'm going to be harassed at work. Like who does that?? I'm so creeped out and grossed out. Ugh. What would you do in this situation? I've reported this to my manager.

Since my husband's a SAHD am I going to have to pay him if I kick him out of our house? It's our house because it's in both of our names, but all of the bills are paid by me and in my name. He's telling me I can't kick him out because he has no car or money to start off on his own. And he's also saying he will take the title to my car if I kick him out because he sold his car to buy me mine. Which I don't believe anyone cares about because this car is in my name, I don't think anyone cares who got it for me lol. So just wondering if anyone is familiar in anything like this. Nothing's set in stone obviously, just continuous arguing out of nowhere the past few days and I'd really like to educate myself on my options so I can be aware of all sides and not ever feel trapped in my own house, which is how he made me feel tonight.
