so my childs umbilical cord is falling off and is hanging by a thread . its gross and creeping me out and stinks 😅

I gave my little a bath the next night.... just make sure you dab it dry so it doesn't get infected... it looks kind of weird for a little over a week after it falls off

You can give him a bath and soon as it falls off completely 😀

You can use rubbing alcohol to clean it.... they told me not to at the hospital but then when I took her for her one week checkup, her pediatrician said it was fine so I went a head and did it. Helped dry it out so it didn't look oozy

im hoping it falls off when my moms over 😅 shes done this with two kids and isnt grossed out by it . hes pooped all over me and peed in my mouth bc his aim is ridiculous apparently and it didnt bother me and idk why this does @patientlyawaitingdalton @jleightutt

😂 my LO shot poop on me the first week home.... so that was fun. But yeah, my husband was super grossed out by her cord stump too... it is pretty nasty looking underneath but it doesn't stay gross looking forever. I actually went to change her diaper and when I opened it I was like "what the hell is that?"😂 and the I realized it was her cord. I just left it in the diaper and threw it away. It will be a normal looking belly button in like two weeks!

I was told by my my sin dr to wait and make sure it's completely closed. spread the navel open and see if it's closed. my son navel isn't closed but the umbilical cord fell off.
