@crazytoast, same with my hospital. My Dr. reassured me that they always do delayed cord cutting. I'm also doing placenta encapsulation. @hayhayes1 are you going to do that?

Oh I know. They asked me if I wanted mine, and I just offered to donate it. People could use what blood had been left.

The hospital I delivered at does mandatory delayed cord clamping so that the baby gets all the blood. I mentioned it and was reassured that it's a standard practice for all births unless there was a medical emergency for the baby.

and the fact the blood in the cord could be a cure for cancer and you have to go through so much and pay so much to keep it!?! @ginabee93 @mama_mara I just cant. lol I'm on one tonight.

It's a nice in theory, but I wouldn't want to pack the placenta around for a week. the cord was a rotting smell on its own.

They should always take into account what the mother wants!

@ginabee93, I just think it's Hella sketchy. If they don't let me do it I will raise hell. or I will just have my baby at home.

I told my doctor to leave the umbilical cord attached till it turned white, so I knew my baby received more blood from the placenta..

I wanted to do this! I even told my OB to leave the umbilical cord attached, but they ended up cutting it.... :(
