I've just got my first payslip since being on maternity leave and I don't think it's right. I started my leave on 20th July but this consisted of 10 days holiday first so my leave didn't actually start until about 4th August. Then my employer offers 90% of my average wage for 6 weeks so I should still be getting roughly the same amount as I normally would but I've come out with about £400 less which isn't right... Plus it states on my payslip SMP. Anyone have any experience with mat pay? Is it meant to show as SMP even when you're getting the 90% as I was under the impression that this isn't SMP...?

Is that for all employers? I didn't think they all even offered the 90% ? Xx @tg123456789

Yeh I thought that too. We get paid on 5th each month so the wage I get in September will be from what I earned in July. It always confuses me. I'll have to give them a ring, just didn't wanna sound like an idiot if it was right haha! @tg123456789 xx
