Mamas,
We need to help partners understand more about pregnancy 👶🏽 What tips or stories do you have for dads-to-be about pregnancy? What's important for them to know. We'll put the responses into a new blog post.
Thank you!

half the time we don't even know why we are upset, just work through it slowly and try not to get aggitated. it's only 9 months. I know it seems like a lifetime trust me it's longer for us. help out around the house more and try to be more understanding. our hormones are totally different and sometimes we just don't know how to control them. and do not. I repeat do not eat our food. I don't care if I sits in the freezer two weeks I promise as soon as you eat it we will want it and that a whole new ball game. and try to pick up after yourselves also.bending over gets really hard for us.😊 but it doesn't end as soon as we have the baby, it takes a few weeks/months for our body to start regulating and the hormones to balance out and we may tend to be a little "cranky" so keep that in mind also lol
tip number 1. be very calm. some woman react differently. some are angry. irritable, sad, happy. back and forth. Just just go with the flow and try to help especially if the female seems stressed. also. I personally hated when my bf complimented me all the time when I was upset on how i looked lol so just do settle comments. and tell the woman how proud of her you are. caring anf having a baby is something no woman comes back from physically or mentally or both. again many woman act different. Just be supportive all around.
Do not overact when she is being hormonal. Try to calm her down. And if she says she doesn't feel pretty or attractive, remind her that she is. And make sure you feed her whenever she says she's hungry or she will get cranky. You are feeding your baby too. Same goes for afterwards if she's breastfeeding
When your wife or girlfriend is pregnant, they are hormonal, exhausted and frustrated. Sometimes we don't feel so beautiful, and need to be told. Sometimes we need to be told to relax. We'll say things we don't mean, and come to apologize later. Not all pregnant women are the same.
That energy can come and go in a flash. Your preggo lady could have tons of energy one day, and be completely exhausted the next 😩 Don't make her feel like she's being a wimp when she is too exhausted to wash dishes or do laundry when just the day before she was bouncing off the walls 👍🏽
Take some time out of your day for her and your baby. Cuddle up. Rub her belly. Talk to your unborn child. And understand that if she asks for something specific, you should probably oblige her. Especially if she's the kind of woman who doesn't usually ask for much. If you're usually the one handling the remote and out of the blue she says she wants to watch a certain show, watch it with her. If she's usually really chill about where you guys eat when you're out and about and one day she says she really wants Taco Bell, take her there. If she's usually content to stay around the house but one day expresses that she wants to go to the park, go with her. It'll mean a lot to her and will do a lot to strengthen your relationship before the baby comes and shakes things up. Because, believe me- adding a new person to the equation WILL shake things up at least a little bit. And get involved in the preparation process. Express interest in the baby registry, and in going to doctor appointments, and in helping her nest. It isn't easy at all preparing for a baby, and if she feels like she's alone in all of it, or like you're only helping out because you feel like you have to, she will get STRESSED. Try to enjoy it. After all, you'll only get the experience of helping prepare for this baby once!
Do not get mad at her if she doesn't want to have sex. Hormones in pregnancy have a big role and woman's sexual drive can ware off and maybe she will not find herself attractive enough anymore to have sexy time. You should respect that and give her as much love and affection you can. Those times pass I assure you, but be patient with her and don't distance yourself because your sexual drive is not being satisfied at the moment. She is growing a human being, she will most likely be sick, throwing up, being extremely tired and going crazy with hormones, just be there for her through those times.
I've had morning sickness and my boyfriend just couldn't understand the fact that I can't eat anything and he would tell me all the time that what I'm eating was not food which was literally crackers and fruit. But towards the end of first trimester he finally accepted it and started making me fruit salads. So my advice is: listen to what your partner needs, and be there for them. JUST LISTEN.
I just feel like sometimes men can't understand why were so emotional. I've had to remind my partner many times that I am pregnant and that I am going to have symptoms. Sometimes, the sexiest thing my man can do, is just try to understand my aches and pains, and just BE THERE.
•There are so many hormones running through her body that you possibly cannot understand. So she will be upset, sad, happy and so on all in the same day, so don't take it personally. •Please do not compare her pregnancy to another woman's because not every woman will experience the same things!
•she may not be happy about the changes her body is going through, do your best to support her and make her feel good.
•please do not tell her you don't understand why she is complaining about her pregnancy cause it is not easy growing a little human inside your uterus!
Be aware of things she can't do like drink, go out to certain places, do certain things. She may feel like you're rubbing it in if you continue to do those things and tell her she can't.
She isn't control of herself like she used to be. She will say things she doesn't mean and do stuff that she would never do. She may hurt you, but she would take it back in a heartbeat. Don't take things personally. It killed us to say it, I promise.
That it's perfectly normal to be attracted to your wife when she is with child. There is no need to feel afraid to get personal and physical it will not hurt the baby and it isn't odd for him to want to make love to his wife when she is pregnant. This is of course if the mother is up for it!
Support your woman. Support the hell out of her. Whether or not she says she doesn't like flowers, buy her or pick her flowers every week. massage her back and feet. Kiss her all the time and tell her how beautiful her body is. She is going to need even more support after the baby. She will probably hate her post partum body. She will be tired and sore and stressed. Love on her. Take her on dates without her asking. Bring home ice cream. Ask her every day if there is anything you can do. Whether or not you work and she doesn't..remember her shifts don't end...she can't clock out. Her shifts run 24/7 and express gratitude for her doing that!
Enjoy the journey and be a strong support to her, especially the 3rd trimester, where she's aching everywhere, feet swollen, short of breath, and cannot pick up things off the floor anymore
TRUST..in her and not what internet tells you or what you hear from your own mom or people who are mom's..every woman is different and so is every child! Not everything that works for one;will work for another! Be patient with kids..they do not learn overnight..despite these stories you read about Wonder Kids who potty train at as early as 16 months and learn their ABC at a year old and you think why can't your kid do that! Do not assume kids can be disciplined by physical force or raising your voice! Take your time off yourself and put yourself in our shoes...we do not get a break Ever....whilst you play video games get to go out have a drink with the boys we are tending to our kids needs every miniscule second of every minute of everyday. Do not tell a woman how to raise her child ; when your not putting in that physical emotional, mental work yourself! Do Gracious, kind, observant, cause if not for your woman to care for the kiddies ...you wouldn't have free time to do all these things you love everyday..cause to be honest she does everything for you and that makes your life easier....but men don't realize how lucky they got it! Some throw pity parties and it's pathetic! You'll never see a mom of ten kids show that sign of weakness....so if you've ever experienced labor first hand you cannot judge a woman...all you need to do is be there for her and learn everything along the way ; that you possibly can about being a mom and sacrificing your entirety to your kids whole heartedly and thoroughly then will you begin to understand why our convictions are such a strong one! Simply because we are mom's💪
Believe your SO when she tells you something about pregnancy. For some reason my boyfriend thinks I'm making everything up. I tell him I can't clean the litter box anymore and he acts like I'm just being lazy lol 😒
Ask to feel baby move, if we tell you what progress/ growth the baby's going through that week be interested/reply, even if we tell you more than once, ask questions at appointments, discuss all things concerning your child, just be excited! Not showing any enthusiasm can make it less exciting for mom to be, and may get her feeling down or that you as the dad aren't interested. Dads, share you're feelings and talk to your woman and be supportive. Our hormones may make us unpleasant at times but we need you to be there or to at least know you are there
...and for the love of God and all things right and pure, PLEASE don't come home smelling like her food aversions. 😝
Morning sickness isn't always in the morning it can be all day in the morning, understand were extra sensitive and may cry just to cry or be quick to anger also sleeping pregnant is difficult.
BE KIND! PLEASE take your wife's personality and multiply it by like 100. Hormones turn molehills into mountains & some women can't deal. BE PRESENT! She might want you there for eveything or nothing, but ALWAYS offer your presence. BE HUMAN. Show your fear, your strength, your joy. She is looking to you for support, not perfection. BE EXCITED! Definitely get into the thick of it. BE HER ALLY. Stand up for her. Support the things she wants for your child. Help her achieve those goals.
1. Go to doctors apts. 2. Read (not Google, I mean actual books). 3. Understand all risks that can happen. 4. Understand that hormone levels are high, and many changes in the body and emotions may take place.
Patience, patience, patience!! We know we're emotionally unstable right now, we just don't always realise right away when we are being a little overly sensitive. We will figure it out soon, but it's best to let us get to that conclusion on our own rather than risking your neck by telling us. And, for the love of all things holy, when we say we really want a strawberry smoothie with green olives and Oreos mixed in, help us get it ASAP ☺️
@preggie_usa, during labor, try not yo take it to heart. I was gentle with my words but i didn't want to be touched or talked to. I screamed once when I was pushing he was panicking because I was in pain, he covered his ears and began to cry. I wanted to tell him it was okay, but I couldnt. it sucked to see him suffer while I was hurting. I wish he understood that labor is painful & you'll see me a different way. we will be prepared next time.
Be patient with your expectant wife. Pregnancy is a rough, emotional roller coaster already.

First pregnancy symptom
Do you know what the very first pregnancy symptom you ever had was? That actually convinced you that you were pregnant.

Девочки, накидайте плейлист истинного миллениала, от которого сердце разобьется. Ну типа Nickelback "How you remind me" и Three days grace "I hate everything about you". Спасибо, пойду готовить носовой платок)
How do you ladies feel about red wine during pregnancy?
if you thought Mama was crazy when she was pregnant, hormones go CRAZY after the birth. please remain patient - every day she gets closer to her old self!
