I have a restraining order against him. I tried to add my son to it and the judge didn't allow it because there's a custody battle going on that is in the hands of another judge. But DCYF is investigating him as well as a domestic violence advocate working with me. This is not the first time he's laid his hands on me, but it's the first time the police were called. But every time he's been abusive, either physically or mentally, my sons been around. My son is 2. It took me almost 2 months to get him to stop calling me a c*nt whenever he was mad at me or didn't get what he wanted after his father called me a nasty, worthless c*nt and a horrible mother in front of him. And now my son wakes up crying almost every night saying "mama I'm scared" and freaks out whenever he sees a police officer. And any time someone puts a hand on me, he goes "do you want a smack?" Like seriously.. I'm so worried for him.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. do you have an order of protection against him? if so, is your son included in it as well? I know every state is different but I know here, if the man is not a danger to the child, he would still have rights. my aunts kids had to visit their dad at a precinct.
