Every time I see someone on Facebook post a picture of their child whose younger then 2 sometimes even younger then one forward facing I want to say something. But I feel not all mothers are accepting of advice they didn't ask for.
my kids heads came over the top and shoulders were over the last strap thing my kids are tall cause there dads. one was 5'10 and my man now is 6'2. so there going to be as tall as there dads I think.
Yes me too! But you know now in pa its law that 2 and under have to be rear acing 🙌🏽 I always want to say something but ppl get defensive but honestly we are just trying to save a child life.
@flower_princess, yes if your child is 2 and that weight it's okay to forward face them. But it should also tell you the weight maximum to rear face which is usually 40lbs. Most manuals just give you weight and hight minimums and Maximums. They barely ever have anything educational on actual car seat safety. There is a pages on Facebook called "car seat safety" you should defiantly check it out its very informative.
I have the graco 4ever and in the manual it's forward facing its from 22 lbs
@jessicarose0602, my state made it a law and I know others are following. In this day and age there is so many car accidents and drunk drivers we just need to be safe. I've read many stories of how parents who got into a accident that rear facing their child saved their child's life
exactly!! my daughters safety is #1 in my book. it's well worth the expense. I think it should be required by law in every state if it isn't already.
@jessicarose0602, yes it's worth it too!! I put my daughter into the convertible car seat when she was 9 months and she'll be rear facing well over 2 years old. It's what's safest
convertible car seat ftw! bought an infant car seat because my daughter was only 5 lbs and it made more sense at the time. buying a convertible car seat during tax season. 👏👏
@february2016, in weight ? Convertible car seats can rear face till 40lbs. And plus kids are so flexible to us as adult we assume they look uncomfortable or that they may be straining their legs but since children are so flexible it really doesn't bother them. My daughter has long legs and naturally just crosses them while rear facing
And then once baby reaches the age two you can forward face him in that same car seat (convertible car seat) @flower_princess
@flower_princess, you probably had a infant car seat. That's why there are convertible car seats that are for bigger babies and toddlers that allow you to put your child rear facing till 40lbs
Not the car seat I have, I read the manual, the minimum weight was 20lbs and my son is barely 20lbs
2years is the age in my state but my kids always grew outta the rear facing seats at 1 1/2
@flower_princess, the minimum age to forward face a child is 2 it's been tested and proven to be the safest for the child. Most car seats rear face till 40lbs some even more. My state just passed a law on it too and I know soon all the other states will too.
My son is 1 and is forward facing, but I didn't forward face his car seat till he turned 1 . I seen so many mothers that have babies that are like 6 months and they forward face them and I tell them .. And I think they don't take it well

Just curious, are there any other younger mums on here? I was 19 when I had Charlie, I'm 20 this coming Saturday but I get told a lot I look younger than I am 🙄
i keep having these weird ahh dreams this time it was about me, my younger sister my younger brother (they are 15 yr old twins) and my mom😔😔😔😔😔
Modesty- Where did it go?
There is too much sexy going on! I was incredibly guilty of it in my younger days, too. But as I get older and look at pictures that women are proud of I actually get embarrassed for them. What happened to old fashioned modesty? I change clothes if my v neck t-shirt shows too much! I know my younger self would be laughing at me right now, but I have definitely changed my perspective as I have gotten older and become a mom! Does anyone else feel this way or have I just ...
So I see ladies over 5 months and much younger . I am 36 and only 5 weeks pregnant.
How do you deal with...
Toddler/younger child meltdowns?
I'd have to get the newer forward and rear facing seats I'll prob do that with my now 6month old though
