For all my NC mommies that know something about child support is it true that the child has to have the dad's last name in order to take out child support? and/or if they have to do a DNA Test, if it comes back positive the childs last name has to be changed to his?
@kingizzysmommy, oh okay well just look into it and see what the laws are
I don't mind the DNA test I just don't wanna give my son his last name.. @mechelle444 @mommy2017
@kingizzysmommy, yea you have to get a DNA test first because you could be trying to put anyone on child support. (Not saying you are) but I'm guessing that's why they do that first.
yeah my cousin had to do a DNA test before she got child support , unfortunately she didn't want to follow through w that
I don't know about NC and this may not help you but I do know if you want to put the father on child support they will do a DNA test and if it comes back positive they can go to court to get the child's last name changed. But that's for GA maybe you should go down to the court or something to get clarification.
@kingizzysmommy well I don't know cause I didn't have to do that and I stay in rocky mount nc
@1sttimemummy, and @jaquavismommy2012 my friend just had a baby and she told me that! Didn't sound right to me either so I thought I would ask! thanks ladies
That sounds crazy! From what I know that's not correct but, different states can be weird.
Never heard of that you usually just need a Dna test and that's it
