wait until you feel its right. the longer theyre rear facing the less risk of getting hurt in a car accident. i turned my son around when he was 18 months since he was tall and was bigger than the requirement of rear facing at that point. its your choice, if you want to keep em till theyre 2 you go on ahead. youre the momma

If she doesn't fit in a rear facing car seat (too heavy or too tall) it's fine to go forward facing but if she can still use the rear facing its better to wait.

they say 2 years is safest. I would wait until 2 years no matter the size. their legs can prop up on the back of the seat. it's fine.

@ssdj4, @jaclyn000 that's what I figured but she's starting to get way to big for her car seat.

dont stress out, my son is really tall for his age and he just crossed his legs to make himself comfy. their necks arent very strong yet so if you get in an accident the force could really do alot of damage from them whipping their head forward. i waited till my sons weight was more than the limit for rear facing. if you dont feel comfortable yet, no worries dont switch her till you feel its right.

@babyeitrem, I turned my son around at 1 year and he was fine, but he is very tall so it didn't make sense to keep him backwards. This was also 7 years ago when the recommendation wasn't 2 years. Do what you feel is best!

its safest for them to be rear facing for as long as possible... 2 years old atleast... just do some reading momma... if you face them forward too soon then there is a higher likelihood in an accident of being internally decapitated- i also flipped my other 2 children at a year but now i know better my son will be rear facing for as long as he can... i have the extended fit carseat from graco for that reason...

Back when my oldest was a baby it was 1 year old and 20 lbs. he sat forwards at one year. I wasn't aware it even changed until 6 years later when I was pregnant with my middle

Look up the state law in your state. Many states are now making it a law that they stay rearfacing until 2. That being said if your state law is under 2 but you still feel like she should rear face then keep her rear facing. Rear facing is safest

It depends on state. California just made it a law they have to be rear facing until 2
