Any ladies felt emotionally disconnected from their bumps (babies) while pregnant and if so, what did you do or when did it change?

That gives me hope! I feel like I'm disconnected bc of the issues I'm going through with her father... I'm a few days from 8 months & it's like I feel nothing. I'm anxious to give birth though so maybe I will be more like myself and have different feelings when I can finally see and hold her. We're you ever concerned that you would have PPD?

I didn't feel much of a connection, not just my bump but even seeing my baby during an ultrasound or hearing her heartbeat. I never felt overwhelmed with emotion. My husband did and he cried but I never did. When I found out the sex and picked out a name I started to become more attached, and in the third trimester when her movements were strong I would push back lightly trying to interact with her some and make myself talk to her or read a book to her and that helped me somewhat. But even after I gave birth to her I didn't feel an immediate attachment. But I think it was because of the shock from labor and I had mini drama with the family, and the pain recovering and the demands of breastfeeding and not getting any sleep in the hospital because the nurses come in every few hours and wake you up and the constant visitors. I just felt overwhelmed and disconnected. But when I came home and got to bond with her in the comfort of my own home and really got to know her, that is when I started feeling really connected. And everyday it gets better and better. I just love staring at her and holding her and kissing her. It's amazing. But during my pregnancy I was a little concerned and wasn't sure how I would be as a mom, but its wonderful.
