Everything I've read online says if swelling is severe/sudden, which it has been since yesterday.. To contact your dr.. But at every check up my blood pressure has been fine. I haven't checked it the last couple days or since the intense swelling has started..
Suggestions? Can preeclampsia come at any time? Anyone else experience this and have problems?
@cnew12, they been noticed early on and at first she was like bp good it's ur 3rd trimester and it's hottt out but I guess they noticed maybe it could be more... so better safe than sorry luv
Oh okay. Yeah, mine started yesterday and I don't see my dr till Wednesday but I'll actually be seeing him at the hospital so have my cerclage removed so hopefully I can just wait it out till then. I'll definitely keep an eye on my face and neck for swelling. @rocky792
@cnew12, actually I had a doctor's appt Thursday my doc wasn't there but the practitioner was and she kept looking like damn you're pretty swollen so I guess she gave report to my doc and they called me yesterday to go in to L&D asap
So you mentioned it to your doctor instead of going to L&D for symptoms? @rocky792
@cnew12, that's exactly why I'm being induced my blood pressure was a lil high but not critical and has been stable... I did have a terrible headache as well but that also gradually went away... they made the decision to induce based on the swelling not just bottom legs and feet but top face neck etc there also was a decrease in baby's heart rate last night... my results for preeclamsia was negative too... all of our bodies are different just keep paying attention to it and if necessary to ut concerns bring it up to ur doc as much as you need... I definitely didn't expect to be getting induced...
@cnew12, Bad headaches definitely sounds more like pre eclampsia. But sudden swelling can happen if your baby presses on a vein or something. Caffeine can increase swelling. I'd suggest lying down and drinking just water, no caffeine for a few hours and if nothing's changed go in before the end of the day.
Just like mid calf down to my feet blew up yesterday and today accompanied by bad headaches. It's been hot and I've drank caffeine my entire pregnancy but I def. don't wanna seem dramatic.. Just wouldn't think all the sudden my body would react this way since nothing has changed? I guess I'll have to go check my blood pressure somewhere. @dcb012 @jaclyn000
Swelling can also be a blood clot, especially if it's on one side, includes your calf or face, or is accompanied by redness and crampy feelings in the area.
Usually anything 160/90 or higher. But heat, salt, dehydration, can all cause sudden and excessive swelling
for sure luv, good luv
