so ladies... 5 days since I had my beautiful baby boy and I thought I'd post my labour story, as when I was pregnant I wanted all the advice and help I could get.

so... on the 30th July me and my OH went to the deep, and shopping in Hull. On this day what I didn't know was my waters started leaking, I was convinced it was just very runny discharge. ( slight trickle, damp pad) nothing like they say it'll be! when we got home I went to the toilet because I felt very damp down below and when I wiped it was like a straw colour. Didn't think anything off it, the second time I went to wipe again and it was pinky. I Geuinely didn't think much of it, but my mother and OH said just ring triage and make sure if it isn't it isn't if it is then good job you phoned. we ended up at triage that night, I laid on the bed for 40 minutes and was internally examined. when I coughed water didn't show in the tube they put up, but with everything I described they wanted to induce be on the Sunday (31st July). on the Sunday I was called into the hospital at 3pm for an induction, but because of how busy it was a pessary wasn't inserted till 7.30pm. when my other half left at 9pm, I was having strong period pains, but the midwife said it couldn't be much as the pessary takes 24hours to kick in. by 12 pm I was in agony!! I asked for paracetamol and codeine. By 2pm it got worse, and I was checked, to be found in was 2cm dilated. the midwife said it'll still be a while yet, I was in agony all night and at 6am I stood up in agony , the rest of my waters went and I called the midwife, she rushed in and checked me and said " right we need to get you down to labour ward hun you're 7cm) PANIC!! lol I phoned my OH and told him to get HERE FAST and get my mum and his mum!! I was rushed down to labour ward and within 20 minutes I was 9cm. by this point there was no time for pain relief only gas and air the help breathe through contractions. by 8am the midwife said you can either push on your own or wait for your body to help you, I waited and by 9.30am I was pushing, 20 minutes active labour and he was born at 9.52am!!
