yes I did the phone interview and waiting on the paper work to now... then I'll be looking forward to the blood work. @chibiytino I don't do no drugs or drink for that matter. so I'll be straight
@chibiytino so.... I called the donation place my lactation consultant told me to call... the process included a quick phone interview, then they're going to send me a package with documents to have my baby's pediatrician sign and my OB sign, also include more milk storage bags. after I send those back and everything looks good, they will send me a blood work slip which they pay for, I'll go get the blood work... after that clears, I'll be able to donate... they expect at the least, 100cc each time I donate.
@vivalakats of course, I drink soy and or almond milk. our veggies and fruits are organic, the meat I eat is as well.. my children and partner are vegan/vegetarian... so when I cook for them I cook and eat tofu, seitan, qiunoa, cous cous just to name a few.. we juice our own juices with a juicer. and make homemade smoothies and ice cream. we try to be as natural as possible... also what we use on our skin is natural, Shea butter, coconut oils, coconut butter and natural lotions from the health store
I noticed you said your diet is pretty organic. Can you share with me what you eat? My baby has severe acid reflux and his gastroenterologist is actually sending me to see his nutritionist because what I eat affects the baby since i try to nurse as much as I can.
thats another reason I want to donate instead of getting paid... I rather do a good deed without getting anything in return except a smile and thank you lol
Im not sure, @chibiytino ... but when I call tomorrow I'll get back to you. I think they should test all milk being donated just in case. some people smoke or drink while nursing (and they can do that) ... but I think its a good idea to check. if giving to sick babies the milk should be clean and completely healthy
How do go about that ? do you just go to your hospital with your bottles of milk and say "here" hehe .. do they check you to see if you pass some test ?
plus I'm losing room in the freezer LOL... my son is only five days old and I've pumped 10 things of milk on top of nursing and also feeding my one year old the milk from a sippy cup. I pump, feed and still be engorged within minutes
