I was sleeping, but I had no idea it was my water because it didn't gush. I had an appointment the next morning and brought it up to my ob that I was leaking a lot and then got checked. sure enough, it was my water

it just depends really. your bag of water could really burst or it could just tear slightly (kinda like mine)
