okay I need my ladies advice please. I fell 20 ft into a lake today and got severe whiplash a concussion and a fractured tailbone. they're giving me muscle relaxers and pain meds. I'm EBF and DO NOT have a freezer stash. I have maybe eight 5 oz bags frozen and that's it. they said I can't nurse for 12-24 hours with these meds but on lacmed it says its fine to do it. any opinions ? thank you in advance. (already crying at the thought of not being able to nurse him tonight and possibly having to supplement. we've almost made it 3 months EBF and plan to go 1+ year)

Yeah, I would pump and dump and use the milk you have frozen and then if you run out before you're allowed to nurse again then maybe you'll have to supplement a few bottles.... But don't stress yourself out about it... A little formula won't hurt especially because he is getting almost all breastmilk.
There are many meds you can take while bf. There is a website that they have me when I left the hospital. I think it's called my meds. They gave me pain meds when I left hospital after c section.
just pump and dump that way body won't get confused and supply won't drop
I would check with your primary care about it. or a lactation consultant might know better. sometimes doctors aren't up to date on what can and can't be used while bf.
