Okay so my son will be two weeks on Sunday; He screams bloody murder when he's hungry and I feed him about 2-3 oz and he will STILL act like he's hungry but he spits the milk up sometimes like he's full but STILL acts very unsatisfied. Sometimes I'm worried he isn't eating enough but then he spits it up so I worry he's just being greedy. I don't want to UNDER feed (I breastfeed , if that helps any) but what do I do ?????????
@amyrrah22, I was pretty upset when I found out and my doctor told me to stop so I looked it up and it does say about 30% of babies are intolerant to their moms breastmilk. That may not be the case though, definitely worth asking your doctor.
@baevans1993, does that happen often ? Breast milk irritating their tummy
@abelsmama16, @amyrrah22 me too! She was intolerant to my breastmilk! Caused terrible jaundice and everything! Sometimes breast isn't always best.
I had to stop breastfeeding due to my son doing that and he started when he was about 2 weeks old like @baevans1993 said his belly was hurting I felt so bad that he was just yelling and yelling . switch him to formula within hours he started acting so much better.
Maybe talk to the doctor about it. Maybe the breastmilk isn't quite enough or it could be irritating his tummy. I know my doctor said that when they're pooping or gassy this can happen because there is a connection between their stomach and their mouths still. So they're trying to push out gas/poop but it's not coming out so it comes back up.
@amyrrah22, my little spit up and had acid reflux pretty bad so I put her on rice with her formula but then switched to AR formula but it wasn't enough so I put rice in the AR. Unfortunately, it made her constipated. Talking to your doctor about the best options is the best idea.
