Does anyone know what kind of spider this is? Hoping it is not a brown recluse.. Worried about my son getting bit..

It looks like a wolf spider to me. They're HUGE and very common in western PA. They're scary looking but actually pretty harmless (definitely doesn't mean they don't freak me the f out when I see one in my house though!!!)

Yeah they scare me. Apparently it was crawling behind me and I had no clue at first.. We had people screwing around in our basement all day, must have disturbed some of those nastys @mommytoabel

I have a fly swatter in almost every room for spiders. I despise them.

I live in Pennsylvania .. But I heard they can be common here.. I just can't figure out what else it could be cause it looks like the brown recluse pictures 😕

It looks like one. Where do you live? If you leave back East or down South that is most likely what it is. We have some spiders that look like them here. I was worried about my son getting bit too. I really have to worry about black widows. They get in the house from time to time.
