@kendra218, I understand. And I actually had to bottle feed all 14 puppies. When they were a week old, momma dog got mastitis.. And almost died from it. So I had to pull all the pups from her. It was a round the clock, 8 week job. I sold all my pups, so they didn't leave until atleast 8 weeks old. Had to fully vax, deworm and get health certificates on them all.. But thankfully my dog I have now that had the 11 pups, was able to feed all of them no problem... I was very worried because it was her momma who got the mastitis. So I didn't know if she'd get it too. Lol thankfully she didn't.
@klove2016, I don't think my mom wants to do all that since they only have a week left until they can leave the momma . mayb we will if we can't find the rest homes or she decides she wants to keep them longer . uuuughhh I never knew it would be this much lol !!! I can't believe you did it with all those puppies and that poor momma how did she feed all 14
@kendra218, just make sure the pups have plenty of shade, and a fan of you put them outside. I even put a small kiddie pool outside with mine. But only filled it enough where they couldn't drown.
Is there anyway you could like fence around the concrete? You can get chicken wire, and some cheap post to fence it. It will save you lots of hassle with cleaning. @kendra218 and yes. Being the pups haven't been vaccinated, they can get sick easier. But as long as you keep their area clean and sanitized, and keep the pups cool with a good fan, you'll have no problem.
@klove2016, yes we were using a kiddy pool but they got to big . we don't have a deck and we have concrete but nothing to keep them just on that . so they dont want them where other animals have been but inside other animals have been there to ? OMG they are so cute and huge !!!!
With the deck area. I just covered the entire spot they were in with lots of newspaper.. And every 20-30 mins, I'd sneak up on them, with the paper handy, and quickly lay it over the piles of poop and pee... So when they wake up all frantic, they're not stepping in it... Then once it was all covered, I'd then slowly change it all with fresh paper.
You can actually vaccinate them at 6 weeks old for their first shot. When I had my 14 puppies, I kept them in a large kiddie pool until they started getting out of it. (Around 3 weeks). Then I moved them outside to our deck... It's a lot of work keeping up with the poop and pee for sure. It's a full time job, that does require you to change newspaper, or spray it off every 30 mins to a hour.. If you have a wooden deck, or concrete area that you could fence in, that works. You just don't want the pups walking around in dirt and all over the yard because of parvo and other stuff. But if you have them in a secluded area they can't get out of, and you spray it with water and sanitize with bleach, it works. And with lots of pups, that's how you have to do it. @kendra218
@klove2016, my dog had 10 babies and they are now 5 weeks and the vet said they aren't allowed outside until they get their shots . so we keep them in the house but obviously they piss and shit everywhere and its sooooo much trying to keep up with that inside the house .. we tried puppy pads but they don't always use them or they just tear them up . do u have any suggestions on what to do ? what did you do with the 14 omg
