What Does 4cm Dilated and 50% Effaced Mean?
4cm dilated and 50% effaced. also had the membrane stripped. I am in bed and the cat won't leave me alone.

may I ask why you are getting induced a little early? I had my son at 37 weeks due to preclampsia

I'm not scheduled to be induced until 39 weeks. but baby's been seeming a bit large. they don't really worry about me going into labor after 37 weeks. they have asked if I have had symptoms of preclampsia. it was a suggestion per the obgyn to go ahead and have it stripped. if I don't go for the epidural they can sterilize me the day after delivery.
