ok has any other over weight mommy had to get weekly ultrasounds to check babies breathing, movements, and fluid starting at 32 weeks because of a higher risk of still birth?
I have only gained 3lbs this whole pregnancy @tiffrae after losing 10. idk why my midwife didn't tell me earlier to at least warn me.
some doctors like to be over causes about that and wants the best out come for you and baby. how is your weight gain each month? I gained about 4lbs every month until the last month of my pregnancy.
Yeah @tiffrae she said because my BMI was 40 I have to do the ultrasounds and everything else is healthy no issues what so ever. it just came out of nowhere that because of my weight I could have a still born so they need to do them. unless they aren't telling me anything.
I started my pregnancy at 240 and only had three ulrasounds my whole pregnancy. I went in to give birth at 268 I was also taking tyroid medication my whole pregnancy and only had a 7lb 0.8oz baby. Is your weight the only issue your doctor is making you have routine ultrasounds?
My ob must be really nice. I started my pregnancy at 207 and have gained at least 13 lbs so far. I have pcos and was on metformin my first trimester and she wanted me to stop it. Since I stopped it is why I'm gaining weight. Every time I bring up my weight she tells me I'm fine and healthy and not to worry about it. Everything is good testing and health wise but now I'm concerned because she doesn't seemed worried and I'm hoping she's not just being nice. She never told me anything about my weight causing preterm labor, I'm gonna ask her at my appt today.
drives me crazy @curvymommy they kind of look at me stand offish now when I show up to appts but I don't care they do not run the show I do lol 😂😂😂
exactly @sparklymama !!!!! I feel the same way!!! I'm healthy, my baby is in the normal ranges I've only gained 3lbs and lost 10lbs the first trimester, just because I'm overweight doesn't mean in not healthy! my blood pressure is always on point and everyone is always shocked, it's ridiculous that we get treated high risk automatically.
I have had diabetes for 10 years so when I got pregnant I started seeing a high risk doctor who I hate.. he told me I needed to lose weight while pregnant, my OB said absolutely not, but my pregnancy has been great I started going to the OB bi weekly around 22 weeks and once I hit 30 weeks it was every week, at 33 weeks.i started having NSTS 2 times a week which have been going great and now every week I get an ultrasound done to monitor.hos growth and his breathing he is a happy baby who will be here Friday morning :)
sorry no @mimiz doesn't make you automatically high risk it's a factor in determining high risk
they treated me like that all pregnancy testing me super early for gd at 12w telling me we were going to induce at 39w etc... finally I flipped my shit and told them you're not going to treat me like I'm unhealthy because you discriminate based on BMI... I had lost 114lbs before getting pregnant but still weighed 220lbs when I got pregnant... but they still wanted to treat me like the unhealthy obese person... so when I flipped out on them and went off about doing power lifting 3x weekly and Zumba 5x weekly mind you I'm a certified Zumba instructor before becoming pregnant they just sat there stunned... I took out further and now refused to be weighed at my appts because I am not taking their shit anymore. I weigh myself daily at home I have gained 2lbs my whole pregnancy and my baby's growth ultrasound was perfect... no thank you to the BULLSHIT treatment I'll make the medical decisions for me, my pregnancy, and my baby not some shithead discriminating medical team.... that is all💁... sorry soapbox I'm a little passionate about this issue lol 😂
Im good on the gd my vitals are always perfect and all my tests are normal
I'm high risk because of tuberculosis medications and Gestational diabetes
ok thank you @sparklymama !!! I was starting to get worried because I'm completely healthy and then they tell me this today.
no they have me monitoring her movements myself ... I saw a maternal fetal specialist at 32w for growth ultrasound but she was perfect and so he told me I don't know why they're trying to treat you as high risk no gd no preeclampsia so we're going to start treating you like we should've been a healthy pregnancy... nst may start at 36w depending on how she's doing but I think that is becoming more standard I see a lot of mommies doing those
and you're all at risk for something else right @mimiz @mccartymama0418 @caidynsmommy22 ??? I don't have any other problems rather than a high BMI and have to do this. I just think it's really weird...
Im 30 weeks for now its every two weeks.... im overweight and high risk of pre term labor so theyve been givin me 17p injections every week since i was 17 weeks only got 6 shot left before they stop them
I get weekly ultrasounds and AFI checks weekly due to gestational diabetes.
wth that's weird then. yeah she should of warned you about it
