I'm getting induced tomorrow night. Any tips, advice, experiences someone can tell me!!? What's it like is it as bad as ppl make it seem
@aamaitland, I agree with @mommy763 eat up until they tell you you can't have food. I was induced with my first one and was fasting the day before my appointment. I went in, did my NST and his bp was dropping so they sent me next door for monitoring. Later that day they decided to induce but wouldn't let me eat. It was hard to sleep bc the pictocin made the contractions hurt worse. I didn't end up delivering until the next day. I was starving! I threw up the magnesium during labor and the nurse was like you're not going to throw up bc you have nothing in your system. She should have listened to me. But you will need your strength so just eat and rest, that's my advice.
@ban ynessa, was it that bad🙈 @momtobe0716 thank u so much and same to you @mommy763 thank u for ur experience
when I was induced I couldn't sleep at all night before so I suggest if you can sleep do so, only part I didn't like about being induced was immobility I started to feel contractions and I had a really strong urge to walk but you have to stay in bed for continuous monitoring at least where I delivered , I wouldn't know because I only have one child and I was induced with him but people say the contractions are a lot worse with induction than natural labor but I don't know if that's true, I suggest you eat before too if your ob allows that because the will only allow you to have ice chips as long as you are there until you give birth , it took 16 hours for me to have my son and an hour of pushing , I got the epidural after 5 hours
rest! labor is exhausting, you'll need all the strength and energy to get through it
@aamaitland, I too am being induced tomorrow night . good luck mama. sending positive thoughts and good vibes your way
@aamaitland, the only thing that really sucks about inductions is that the contractions don't start gradually like in really labor so your body takes a while to adjust to the pain. The contractions just.. Start. Lol all in all I had a great experience being induced. My labor was only 9 hours and I pushed literally three times so I didn't get too restless and I ate before I went in so I was good! I do suggest showering before you go in. It may be longer than you'd like before you can take a shower again. So take a nice long hot bath or shower before hand and just relax before baby gets here!
