To keep an eye on baby's development... In my case I have gestational diabetes so they want to make sure he's not getting big too quickly x

Because I have lost 3 stone due to sickness so I am booked in for 2 growth scans x

When the midwife measures your bump with the measuring tape, there's a growth chart they follow with an estimate of how baby should be growing. If the baby is measured either below the line or above the line for more than 2 weeks then they book you in for a growth scan just to check if baby's growing well and the amount of fluid surrounding him/her, etc.

Mines due to having a prem baby before so I've got to have one at 30 and 34 weeks.

I've been booked in for 4 growth scans from 26 weeks onwards every fortnight due to low PAPP levels in my blood, worried about him being to little xx

I was measuring 2-3 weeks ahead consistantly :) that's why I got a growth scan :) xx

I'm getting them too when I get to 30 weeks due to having preeclampsia and giving birth early x
