I was induced and had one. I had the drip so think it was at this point. I hated the thought of it beforehand but wasn't bothered at the time can't remember it going in! Although I had a difficult birth - induced, was in labour for over 24 hours, had drip, eventually got to 10cm started pushing but wasn't working so they tried forceps which also didn't work then caesarean! Then I needed antibiotics through it after the birth due to an infection/high temperature
thank you @suzie80. midwife can only get a fingertip in my cervix at the moment so im hoping that won't make it harder for the pessarys to work. I really don't want that drip! xxx
Unless there's a reason to put one in they don't when they start a normal induction till you need the drip then yeah they deliver that via the cannula. But the fact your not being induced early I'm hopeful you won't need the drip x
@mrsmowmow, glad you had a straight birth that's what I'm hoping for! I'm not sure what they are called but they are the plastic tubes that go in your vein in your hand? did you have an induction @mrsmowmow xx
