When you get to 40 weeks, should your midwife be checking you internally to see if anything has happened with your cervix or are you literally just left until 42 weeks? My community midwife told me not to go back to her a few weeks ago because I'm at the hospital every other day for monitoring and she said they can do all your antenatal checks there. well the hosp do my urine and blood pressure but they don't measure me, check babys position etc? Do I need to speak to them?

I think you should speak to them. I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and got checked yesterday but that was only because I was in pain and I'm 3cm dilated. They should feel the position of baby with their hands when you get monitored.

@ashleymoffat9, wow 3cm! So you should be having a baby soon!! Can I ask what pain you are in? Contractions? I'm due for my monitoring on Thursday so I'll ask them xxx

Hope so. I had a sweep yesterday and had a show last night, I've been having irregular contractions but the pain I feel just now is like period pain, you should definitely ask xx @jetrum
