I cannot eat beef or any meat without feeling sick from the smell of it or even thought of it.. And I'm worried my iron is going to be low or I'm not getting enough protein. Any ideas?
I was the same way my first trimester or so. Pb and green veggies will supplement the iron. I ate a lot of salads and veggies. Luckily it passed though and I can finally eat meat again.
Leafy greens have iron, so eat a lot of those. Luckily I love spinach, I've never been much of a red meat person.
Spinach and black beans have lots of iron. You can look up foods highest in Iron and Protein and get a list!
I am the same way. My husband came home with all kinds of bbq meat and it was all I could do not to puke.
@tiabb424, chickpeas, spinach, both high in iron & chickpeas are high in protein as well. Lots of cereals are fortified in iron, & maybe you could also do peanut butter for protein? Or protein shakes.
I am having the same issue. I can't handle raw meat and cook it and then eat it. it makes me feel like I've eaten raw meat and I feel sick for days. and I'm in my 3rd trimester. some women, I've learned have an aversion to meat while pregnant. just keep up with your vitamin and get protein where you can! I can handle tuna and preservative free deli meat.
