@sharpnpaige13 is right! You can buy these wedges that go under your crib mattress that help elevate baby just enough to help prevent SIDS while still lying flat on their back

Laying flat on there back is another thing to with sids my mom is a researcher for it and she said many babies choke on spit up and that's where laying on back is a "no" but more sids happen from laying on stomach because they can't turn their head yet. But you also can't elevate them to much to where their head tilts down because that blocks their airways too...you have to have them a like a certain angle...it's so confusing and a lot to remember! We can't remember everything!

They say apparently having a fan on will help circulate the air in the room to stop them from breathing in as much carbon dioxide. But I don't know how true that is. There's really nothing to prevent it just stuff they say helps prevent it.

Yes try to swaddle her! Once she starts grabbing you think you'd prevented it but sometimes you can't help that they are stronger then they look...only time I have a blanket laying on him is when I am sitting right there and not sleeping at night we swaddle and also helps he sleep better too!

There is no way to fully prevent sids. It's essentially the same as an elderly person passing in their sleep. They say there's risks factors such as smoking, blankets, bumpers, back sleeping, ect but there is no proven way to determine if a child will pass due to sids.

@kendra218, in my opinion I strongly don't believe there's anything to prevent it.. but then again I don't know every single thing about SIDS but I do know there was nothing in his crib that could have caused him to stop breathing.. and he wasn't on his stomach either.. but I would take all percotions, I know I am my daughter will have absolutely nothing in her crib, it's a very scary thing but you just have to have faith.❤️

so the concern is pulling the blanket on their face ? because I make sure it won't be able to do that

SIDS is sudden infant death syndrome.. my brother died from it and there was no blankets or pillows, or stuffed animals.. So yes SIDS can easily happen without anything in their crib..

I don't recommend it....we bought swaddlers! They have Velcro on it so he can't get his hands out and pull blanket to his face so he is warm and still have softness as of blanket is there

Along as you don't put the baby on her stomach to sleep, no blankets, pillows, or animals in her bed, no bumpers in crib your baby will be fined SIDS isn't from them just stop breathing something causes it like all that stuff
