So I went to the hospital today for some contractions, I had like one or two small ones on the monitor and the doctor said I'm a finger tip dilated. Does that mean 1cm, does that mean I'm making any progression at all? 3 weeks ago my cervix was closed. She said my cervix is still thick though so not a lot of effacement. I'm 37w 2d. Is there even a small chance I'll go into labor sooner because this is my 2nd baby? I have a scheduled c-section for August 1st, my due date is August 6th, but for personal reasons I want to go in a few days earlier. Thanks!

Being a finger tip open doesn't mean much. I've been that way my whole pregnancy, my doctor said it's not unusual for it to be a finger tip open for woman who have given birth before.

I'm only 2cm dilated and have been since i was 36 weeks. this is my 2nd baby as well. Not always . I'm being induced Thursday because he doesn't want to come out on his own.
I never gave birth but I dilated fully and @daniediane I was literally closed a couple weeks ago. But yeah I'm reading about women who stay 1-3cm dilated for weeks and even go overdue 😱
