I just had my baby Thursday and am producing milk.. Is it too soon to pump? I'm going to class for 2 hours tomorrow and he eats every 2 hours so I don't want to risk him being fussy for my mom.. 🤔
You can pump, but be sure to nurse at the breast as much as possible and limit bottles to only when you are away to avoid nipple confusion. Generally they say to wait 4 to 6 weeks until baby learns to latch well before pumping and bottle feeding because the pump does not empty the breast as well as the baby does and also the baby may start to like the fast flow of the bottle more and then refuse the breast. So that's why I suggest not pumping or bottle feeding as much as possible to avoid these problems, but I understand you gotta do what you gotta do so just be careful mama! And good luck!
I definitely plan on nursing at the breast any time I'm with him! I just have class and don't want to risk him being fussy or hungry. He's been latching pretty well! I hope it works out 😁 I wish I didn't have class 😒
