they took it to auction and got $1200 for it.. I owed $5600 for it.. when I pulled it off the lot it was an 01 Nissan Altima with 120,000 on it and they wanted $12,500 for it.. they haven't tried to come after me. but I'll never go there again because their warranty and customer services suck and they didn't know I was car smart and tried to pull alot of shit that I caught... @xoashl3ylynnxo

Right it has been super weird the whole time if I could go into detail without writing a book I would lol lets just say I feel like i have been played from the get go with these people.. What I think I'm going to do is try to put it up on eBay and craigslist for a month for the exact price I owe now and see what happens. If someone wants the car I'll have the write a check out to haasz and be done with it. @staceymaries

Something seems sketchy about that situation. Idk all the details though. But if you can find someone to co sign for you that has good credit, you should have no problem getting out of that car. The hard part is finding someone who is willing to help.

@staceymaries, they told me if I tried to get a cheaper car I couldn't I'd have to get one that cost twice as much at haasz :(

@xoashl3ylynnxo, yeah that seems to be a major dealership so I wouldn't risk the repo. Honestly, i would go back, see what the cheapest new car they have with the most rebates to eat up some of the negative equity in your current car. And see if you can get that. You will prob need a co signer though since you're not working. But I wouldn't do the repo considering the place you bought it.

@shellbell0391, if I can remember right it's something crazy like 9 percent something no one would really do and when my dad found out he freaked out and said I should've called him but we don't talk much so I didn't which I regret now. :(

@shellbell0391, i know my credit isn't well bc of being a idiot and racking up credit cards but it started looking better. When I went back to my dealership to try to trade it in after the year they said I could so I tried and they acted crazy about said I owe to much. Mind you I pay on time all the time never missed a payment and if I do they shut my car off ( which is insane) so I tried other dealerships and they all told me my car isn't worth what I'm paying for it and all that. And I currently don't have a job and it's in my name so idk what to do we still pay it but bc I'm not the one working right now idk if a bank will help me. :/

At dealerships, we usually only pull Equifax. I've worked at 3 different dealerships. Like I said, used car dealerships/buy here pay here dealers usually use one of the other bureaus because the scores are usually higher than your Equifax score. This is not always the case, which is why I am using a lot of "maybe" and "usually" words. Lol. BUT We've had people voluntarily repo their cars because if it's from a used dealer and they used a different bureau, it won't show on their Equifax, so they can still buy a new car. This does not mean that it won't show on the other bureaus (whichever they used), so it can still affect your chances of buying a house, etc. @shellbell0391

@staceymaries, we checked all 3 major credit bureaus when running a persons credit. Not sure how car dealerships work tho, this was at a bank

PS I worked in a bank and I can't tell you how many loans we had to deny because of former repossessions, foreclosures, etc. People that are in a much better place than they were previously are making tons of money and still can't get approved because that is on their credit history. Try everything you can before letting your car get repossessed. I am tellin ya you'll regret it. Like the person above said it stays on your credit for a loooong time.

I work at a car dealership. If you have any questions let me know, I work in sales and deal with people's credit. If you bought the car at a "buy here pay here" dealership, they usually use a different credit bureau than bigger dealerships, so having them repossess your car might not really affect your credit when you go to buy another one in the future since most dealerships use Equifax where buy here pay here dealers usually use Experian / trans Union. So you may be safe.

You might end up having to get a longer term for a lower payment which would suck cause it would take you longer to pay it off but it would lower the payment which would make it easier on your wallet and it's wayyyy better than having it repossessed. If it's in good condition you might be able to sell it for 5k, but I'm not sure how that works if there's a lien on it.

When I first got my car my interest rate was 7.50 and it was because I was younger and in a "risk group" for having very little credit history. I refinanced somewhere else with an interest rate of 3.99 and my payment went down significantly. Try that, wouldn't hurt

Have you tried refinancing?? Check credit unions. Do you make your payments on time now? Even if you're a few days late sometimes it doesn't matter as long as it's paid every month. Do you know what your credit score is? If it's decent you might be able to refinance somewhere else and get a lower interest rate or a longer term which would bring your payment down quite a bit. What is your interest rate now?

sorry I don't have much experience this these things, but maybe there are some type of debt-assistance programs through the government or other organizations.

I'm trying. I owe 5000 a 325 a month my interest is so high I'm paying till oct 2018. Idk what to do really I have never dealt with anything like this. When I got the car I was naive I didn't think I just jumped on it 😢 and i don't think anyone's gonna want to buy it or take over payments

in what little adult life experience I have, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into other options, like 👆🏻previously mentioned, the impact on your credit could be huge and very hard to come back from.

If you let it go It's gonna hurt your credit really bad and make it difficult to get financed for a car (or other things) in the future. It's a big decision to make. Have you tried researching other options?? Maybe sell it??
