@maxie, yeah, keeping up supply is tough. But I do feel like my body goes through phases- some days it produces less and other days more. The less days are stressful.
I have been pumping for 6 weeks :/ 6 weeks to feed my 3 nuggets. it's difficult and I wish I could put them to the boob more but it's difficult. Hang in there mama! @kat616 Someone posted a pic saying a couple ounces is normal output.....and that's about the amount a newborn is drinking, I think you might be doing better than you think :) My babies were preemies so we have latching issues, so there are days when I don't even try, and the next day they do better.
@macruz, yeah, it seems to be hard to make enough. Whenever her appetite increases I have to try to simulate telling my body to make more just like the baby would! My mom encouraged me to keep trying to nurse, but when she refuses to latch it brings back anxious emotions from before.
it's so hard! I have only been pumping for almost 3 weeks but I feel like I'm already not making enough milk. he was a preemie though so he doesn't latch on
My baby has a tounge tie so that's our issue but I recently purchased a manual pump because I was pumping with the electric pump in the house but i pumped with it yesterday the manual pump while I was out to see if I can get my supply up. The manual pump is much easier to carry around @kat616
@mommy2b2addysen, my baby has a tough time latching too. And I think the reason I have a hard time keeping supply up is b/c it's so hard to pump every 2-3 hours like you said. I'm barely keeping up with her and may have to supplement with formula a bit.
I was the first month I've sadly given up now because of the time constraints and I couldn't keep pumping every 2/3 hours like I was told plus I couldn't BF because she wouldn't latch
My milk supply was always excessive, still is lol! That was what caused me to have to stop nursing once he was a little over a week bc I got mastitis and was hurting so bad I couldn't. But I stuck with exclusively pumping and I started nursing again about 2 weeks after that and we both got thrush so I had to exclusively pump again for another 1-2 weeks. Yes, I've been exclusively breastfeeding ever since and he's almost 6 months 😊
