Hi ladies. I couldn't start breast feeding right away because unfortunately I had some health complications due to my csection. I want to start bf now my son will be 4 weeks on friday. Any tips on how to get him started. I've been using a manual pump to get my milk supply going but unfortunately it takes way too long to pump. I'll be pumping for an hour and only get 1oz. Should I buy an electric one? Or do you think it's to late to start bfing?

Check to see if your health insurance will pay for breast pump... Mine did!

I would go see a lactation consultant. they are so helpful. my son has a lot of problems bf due to a tongue and lip tie and I get reoccurring mastitis so my LC I see has been a life saver.

it's a learning process for them, it will take time for him to latch

@loveless, @sweetmami391 he won't latch he gets frustrated and doesn't like the taste. he got used to formula. I mix my milk with his formula.

I say just give him the boob straight up, don't pump for a bit, the more he's on it the more it will help your supply

Ladies I called my insurance about breast pump and they said with their insurance in order to get a pump I get a prescription from doctor then I call 3 different numbers to see what my insurance covers but the only thing is I have to wait til baby is born to call and get pump so I want to at least buy a hand pump which do you ladies recommend for hand pump and when I can get a pump from insurance please n thank you 💖💖

Breast pump covered by insurance

Breast pump covered by insurance I've already done what I needed to find out what type of pump I get covered through insurance. It turns out, with my insurance, I can't even get my pump shipped to me until I call them with all the birth details of my baby. So...wth am I supposed to do having a baby and no pump?! I plan to pump exclusively and this REALLY throws a wrench in my plans.
