On Mother's day of this year I started going into preterm labor while at the springs with Joseph Mom and Hannah. Joseph drove me to North Fl Regional in Gainesville but because they couldn't catch contractions on the monitor they sent me home without a dilation check. I rested and went to my mother's house the next day and worked with her all the while having cramping on and off and believing them to just be braxton hicks. I was awakened by sharp contractions at 1 am on Tuesday morning and mom took me to Leesburg Regional where they did a cervical check and found me to be between 5-6 centimeters dilated. The gave me a steroid shot to help Amelia and rushed me to Winnie Palmer where I was on bed rest until Thursday May 12th. I had pretty non stop contractions all the days I was on bed rest. At around 8:00pm they came in to do another check and I had no cervix left. They gathered the team and as I prayed that she would be OK I delivered my daughter all naturally. She came out screaming and breathing on her own on the exact day I turned 28 weeks. Although she was very early my precious Amelia was ready for this big world and has been amazing us ever since! "Though she be little, she be fierce!" We're home now and she's still surprising us and making us the happiest parents possible! She has changed our lives forever and made us stronger people. She's our little miracle!
