Diaper question 🤔
How long do babies "typically" stay in newborn sized diapers?
I know it's not too awful long but I was just wondering because I have SO many size 1 and no newborn yet.. My mother-in-law bought us two big boxes of 252 size 1 diapers so that's 504 right there. My sister made my big diaper cake and I could've sworn she said she bought newborn but they're all size 1 also. So that makes 170 she bought . I got a pack of 35 of diapers at my baby shower that is also size 1. All together that's 709 size 1 diapers. Clearly I'm good on those for a little bit 😅 My daughter is almost 2 so it's been a while since I've dealt with the smaller sizes. I know it all varies because some babies grow quicker and some may not even use newborn. I'm just not sure the best way to go about stocking up on the newborn size. I don't want to buy in bulk from Amazon like my mother-in-law did then end up with a lot of newborn left over but I also don't wanna buy a few packs then end up needing to run to the store so often to buy more because my son stayed in longer than expected. Although I feel like I'll still need to do that.
I saw you mentioned the pampers size 1 looks tiny, that's what my baby wears. We use pampers exclusively and so far he's been in size 1 since birth, but will probably need size 2 here soon
my son was in them for about 3 weeks. he was 8.12 but he had broad shoulders and a slim waist. my nephew on the other hand is now 7months old and just now getting out of size 1. he didn't hit size 1 til almost 5months but he was 6 something lbs.
I know they did it at the hospital my daughter was born at but I'm not sure about this new hospital, but they provided me with newborn diapers. I forgot all about that. If they do it here too then I'll know then if I need newborn @mechelle444
Just get some newborn maybe a few packs and if they don't fit take the other packs back and since you have so many ones you might can buy some sizes 2 for when you run out of 1s.
My son was in newborn for about 2 weeks then size 1 for maybe a month an a half, size 2 for 2 months and now a week away from 4 months and he's finishing up his last pack of 2's then we're switching him to size 3 which he should stay in for a while. In all honestly...if your baby is over like 7 or 8lbs chances are, they won't even need newborn. Your best bet is to wait until the babies born and see what their weight is and go from there. I wouldn't exchange anything until you know for sure. We got so many packs of size one and I know walmart exchanged them for the same brand different size as long as they weren't open.
I got mostly size 1 and some newborn diapers my babies are 1 month old and can still fit newborn diapers maybe because they were born at 36 weeks and only weighed 5 and 6 pounds but they can barely fit newborn diapers anymore so I wouldn't buy too many @meeegannoel
I would just buy a few packs not many just in case because there be in a size one before u know it @meeegannoel
I have both Pampers and Huggies in size 1 and the Pampers look so tiny they could seriously be newborn. So you're probably right. I may not even need newborn. @cubanese
@babykamya2016, That's what I kinda remember. So I guess just buy a few packs here soon.
Be careful. My son is a month old today and the newborn still fit him really well....
