i decided to breast feed , and i know you have to have a certian diet , so i was needing advice on what i should eat or avoid .. ?
It's really all up to the baby.. Some ppl can eat anything and nothing but you really can't say for the next baby. Giving up dairy has really opened up a lot of better and healthier options for me as well as baby.
@meagan_garrett, I've been exclusively breastfeeding 6+ months with an oversupply and I have no restrictions with my diet. And my son is fine. Good luck
you actually do not have to have a certain diet.. some foods can flavor your milk but that's it. breastmilk is made from your blood not stomach contents. but with that being said baby can have a sensitivity to anything that gets in your blood, caffeine, dairy, alcohol. Definitely do a lot more research. there is way more to breastfeeding than most people know. Kellymom is full of wonderful resources
i dont eat or drink much caffine so im okay on that @yungbae all i eat that people have been saying are soicy foods
Large amounts of caffeine, some babies can't digest dairy, lots of spicy food, your baby will let you know
i love spicy food so im gonna start eating it then haha @mrsmccormick @meagan_garrett
I avoided caffeine, spicy foods and onions (they could spoil your milk). I also tried to keep track of what I was eating and it it happened to upset her stomach. I had to stop drinking Gatorade because it was giving my baby a horrible tummy ache
i was always told it makes your breastmilk taste different but i just read its good for it to taste different so they will be more likely to try new foods later on. hmm. im glad you posted this question 😁
I eat anything I want - even really spicy food - and he tolerates it very well. I just limit my caffeine intake to two cups of coffee per day.
I'm breastfeeding my second son and never had problems with either one regarding diet. You only really need to worry about your diet for your own health and if baby seems to have problems after you eat certain foods. 😊
