*OK so I'm a stay at home mom of 2 and my step daughter will be coming to living with us this summer either this month or next month. She will be in 3rd grade. and I have tried to tell my husband that I want to work but then he was like "well who will be watching the kids?" and I said "Mia will be in school and I know a few baby sitters." and then it just turned into an argument. He basically said that he won't be having his daughter to come live with us if I won't be home to take care of her...even though she will be in school. I really want to work so how do u go about this without it turning into and argument again??

I agree with @ciaramarie . I would attempt to talk about it again by asking him about his dreams and goals in life personally and professionally. From there you can have the conversation about your dreams and goals as well. Let me know how it goes. If you want to work, I say go for it. Good Luck!

I personally don't think you should feel bad about wanting to contribute income to your household to improve your quality of life. Open communication is the best communication in relationships. My advice is to not be nervous, keep calm and state your wishes. It's not fair to be told you can't work. You don't have to be full time. You can start part-time during the weekdays then increase hours from there if it works for you. @sophiesmommy7
