QUESTION
if you had a son and got him circumcised what was the healing process like for you ???? Like how did you care for it ? What were your feelings ? Would you have rather not got him circumcised????
I'm having a boy and bf wants him circumcised and I'm a little scared about it
I watched my little man get his. It was incredible how confident and skilled the doctor was. She did a beautiful job. My son was a preemie so they used the plastibell method. It ends up being a small plastic ring with a string around it and we were able to use a wipe very lightly on the little tip there will be some white blood cell build up and that just means its healing. I actually went to change a wet diaper and i found it had fallen off and it only took 5 days. Daddy would not touch his dirty diapers for those 5 days, lol. ссылка
@alexislopez, @junesmommy_15 @mommagotbump16 @dcb012 @mommyof2boys248 @damandakillion @babyboy528 thank you ladies I feel a lot better hearing that you guys had no issues !!!! I appreciate the feedback
I had both my boys circumcised and plan to with this one to. It's easy to Care for, just be very gentle. I took like a week to heal . the hospital will give you the stuff to put on it very simple and easy. glad I did it
They say to do whatever dad has. So theirs don't look different then dad does. It's was relatively simple. I had no trouble taking care of it.
Both my boys were circumcised. You have to change the dressing every time he goes potty. I forgot how long it took to heal it wasn't that long. I wanted it done due to seeing how my nephews didn't and had countless infections and irritations. This baby boy that I will be having next week will be circumcised too.
My oldest son and my one I'm pregnant with will both be circumcised. My husband demanded it actually. But I'm not against it by any means and know a handful of men that are NOT and wished they were and could now... @countrymamaof2 and OP
It's not an awful procedure. Do your research on the MD doing it. Some have different methods of doing it. The one I prefer the most uses a bell system. In which they lift the foreskin up and put a "device" inside the forskin. They then put another bell over the top clamping it down and instantly cutting the skin. The bell is left on for I believe 2-3 minutes so that the mushroom shape of the penis is fused and had little to no bleeding. That is trimmed if needed with a scalpel and is then removed. It's then wrapped in A&D ointment and wrapped in a gauze pad. The most "painful" part to the baby is having his legs strapped down and that's because it's annoying to them. Our doctor here does a swaddle wrap of the arms and allows the mother to face away from the procedure. Sugar water is given to reduce the baby crying because it stimulates adrenaline the same way your fight or flight response does. My son cried more when they cleaned his genitals before the procedure than anything. The baby may also cry when the numbing agent is injected because well, you're getting a shot by your genitals. It doesn't tickle..... But it's a numbing agent so they won't feel it shortly after.
Both of mine are. After lots of Vaseline and cuddles, they were both fine within an hr or so. Just keep up with using the Vaseline with diaper changes until it's healed up and that's it.
He actually never got poop on it thankfully, and his umbilical stump didn't fall off until he was almost a month old, so he was just sponge bathed @leatricescherri
My son handled it really well so it was an easy process for us. He just slept a lot after it, the cleaning process it pretty easy too, the nurses show how to make sure it doesn't get infected, he was healed by a week or two. I'm glad I got him circumcised, if I have more boys they will be too
@vb95, I'm already sad thinking about the pain :( ....2 weeks healing time isn't bad ....when cleaning after he uses the bathroom did you put him in the bath and just pour water over his penis ?
Sounds good.. I never believe anything online, but all my friends have girls lol my son is due in 2 weeks and my husband wants him to be circumcised, but I'm having doubts about it. My first baby was a girl so I never had to worry or think about it.
E is circumcised, it looks brutal when the nurses are showing you how to care for it, and I started tearing up once I saw how painful it looked. Within 2 weeks it was completely healed, the nurses will show you how to care for it. Just some info they told me though, keep it moist so it doesn't stick to the diaper, they give you antibiotic ointment to put on, and then after a period of time you switch to Vaseline. It will look like it's starting to peel, that's ok it just means it's healing! Also if poop gets on it do not use a wipe, and don't wipe even if he's just peed, get a wash cloth with warm water and squeeze water over it until the poop comes off.
@countrymamaof2, I've been online looking but I need real answers lol... && keep up with this post so you can get real answers too when someone comments :)
Also baby got sugar water after the numbing cream they put on about 30mins to 45mins before the procedure and then they numbed him with two shots around his pubic bone area. They do move the needle around to distribute the numbing meds throughout the area. I kept my sons plasti ring but wont post a pic scared thats tmi.
